One of the best “Old Florida” vacation areas you’ll find on the Gulf. The beaches have plenty of space and aren’t overcrowded with tourists. Dog friendly beach and restaurants for your furry friends. This is the perfect place to get away from the over developed and expensive FL beaches that are becoming all too common.

Beautiful Island without the mayhem of Panama City or Destin. Beautiful beaches and a great state park that has 3 large pavilions, a couple of boat ramps, a camp ground and miles of beach and bay side for fishing, shelling, nature watching or just walking. The admission to the park is just $6 per car. There are several small stores and restaurants available. There is a long fishing pier on the bay side. There are several boat rental places and fishing charters available. Lots of free parking available for the public beach.
I've been vacationing here my whole adult life. Now, bringing my grandchildren. There are a lot of places to stay. Used to be a local secret, the forgotten coast, but now #1 beach destination in the US. We are going to miss the quiet beach days.
The island itself is cute. The lighthouse is unique and for a fee you can climb the stairs to the top. It is nice for a day trip. The water isn't clear. Not sure if it is the normal or not.
Beautiful and well cared for with restrooms, playground, and wheelchair access with minimal to the beach. Even in walking distance to the ice cream shop for the pups!
Our family has vacation in St George Island FL. Since 1991 it's like going home absolutely beautiful beaches,homes slow paced. The perfect place to rest enjoy bei g with family and just chill. We love it.
This was our first time going in January, usually we are visiting later in the year. Such a beautiful place, plus this time we also went and done some walking around on the bay side! One word... Gorgeous!!
